Private, secluded, and with the most stunning views. Our time at this tiny house was an incredible escape from the months of Melbourne's hard lockdown. With breathtaking views over the hills and vines of a vineyard, it was easy to forget we were only just outside of the city itself.
We arrived late afternoon to watch the sunset over the rolling hills of the Yarra Valley. Blessed with perfect weather, in the warm summer air and under the stars, dinner was home-cooked on the deck of the tiny house accompanied by an incredible bottle of local red.
Like something out of a fairytale, we were gently woken the next morning by the sound of roosters crowing in the distance and the warm glow of the sunrise streaming in through our windows. Breakfast was fresh-cut fruit and newly laid eggs, still warm from the nests of Vicki, the host's many rescue chickens.
In the afternoon we got to help feed Vicki's other rescue animals including a pig, pony, horse and several donkeys. Which I am happy to say, I left with a much greater appreciation for.
All in all, I couldn't have higher praise for our time at A Dam Good View. We had a wonderful experience and Vicki was the most amazing and generous host. I couldn't recommend it strongly enough for anyone looking for a private and secluded base to explore the Yarra Valley and everything it has to offer.
