A small stay in a small place, but packed with adventure. I spent a weekend in the Huntingdon House and fell in love with the place. Located a short 10-minute drive from the town of Wauchope and 20 minutes outside of Port Macquarie, it’s close enough to civilisation to feel comfortable, but nestled in beautiful countryside. Just across the road was a field with cows roaming around and they were friendly enough for me to interact with. The views in every direction are beautiful and the area is incredibly peaceful.
The owners lived on a property just down the road, which was far enough away that I felt secluded in my own little world with no distractions. I visited Ellensborough Falls, the second tallest waterfall in Australia, which was about an hour's drive away and was breathtaking.
Having Port Macquarie so close by was great as I could also just head to the beach for a swim in the morning. If you are thinking of planning a trip that caters to peace, with lots to do, this is the place for you.
