Sleeping Amongst Animals by Tiny Away is located in the peaceful locality of Kernot, just an hour’s drive from Melbourne. For those up for a short trip, the popular tourist destination Phillip Island is only 25 minutes away. Our pet-friendly tiny house is perfectly situated among the trees, with free-roaming alpacas and horses. Our cockatoo might even ask for a pat and a treat!

This 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette equipped for cooking, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.

LOCATIONS
Guests have access to the tiny home and enjoy (2) complimentary 600ml water bottles. Firewood Available $15 per 15kg bundle Please cross over the horse paddock. You are welcome to pat the horses over the fence, and they’ll come over. Meet the Highland Cattle! For $20 per person, guests can pat, brush, and take photos with our two Highland cattle. Please contact the host in advance to arrange a time.
- No WiFi - Family-friendly - Gas BBQ grill is available. - Self-catering accommodation - No cheese and biscuits on arrival. - No feeding animals, but pats are welcome - Mobile reception is weak across all networks - No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed - We have (4) dogs, (7) alpacas, (2) horses, and a bird - No smoking allowed inside the tiny home, except near the fire pit. - SAFETY NOTICE: Children should remain under adult supervision at all times. - We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge - A small fenced yard will surround the tiny house. Pets must not be left unattended when outside this fenced area. - Pets are allowed with 24 hrs' notice. However, pets must stay in the fenced yard and kept on a leash at all times. The full pet policy will be sent before arrival. Important note: - Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present - BBQ grills and outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban - Pets are welcome, but must not be left unsupervised on the property at any time. Thank you for keeping them safe. - For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
Sleeping Amongst Animals by Tiny Away is located in peaceful Kernot, just 7 minutes from Grantville’s beach and shops, and about an hour from Melbourne. Only 25 minutes away, Phillip Island is a perfect day-trip spot, offering fun for all ages with its famous penguin parade, koala sanctuary, and scenic coastal walks. The tiny house is conveniently located near the Kernot Store and restaurant—just a short walk or a 2-minute drive away. Maru Animal Park and Grantville shops are both 10 minutes away, The Gurdies Winery is a 7-minute drive, and Wonthaggi is just 20 minutes away. You can also reach Inverloch in 30 minutes and Surf Beach in Kilcunda in about 20 minutes.

My daughter and I had a great time staying here. We met Jenny and she was so lovely and inviting. The tiny house was clean, it had the necessities and the bed was very comfy!!! The alpacas do their own thing and were very interesting to watch - Marvin the brown alpaca was definitely a character 😆 We are definitely keeping this in our list of places to come back to in the future!

We had such a wonderful time over the weekend. The amenities were excellent, they included everything we needed and more. The tiny house was perfectly and beautifully designed. We loved being able to pat the animals, and my partner absolutely loved Sammy the cockatoo. Jenny, the host, was also incredibly kind and welcoming. It was such a relaxing and amazing experience.
