THE SPACE
Sandy Strait Shack by Tiny Away is a nature-inspired tiny house in Booral, only 20 minutes from Hervey Bay. Surrounded by nature, with kangaroos and birds nearby, it’s a peaceful spot among the many holiday homes in the region.

What’s more, we’re close to attractions like Reef World Aquarium, Urangan Pier, and Lake McKenzie—plus great dining at Enzo’s on the Beach and entertainment at Hervey Bay RSL. It’s perfect for a relaxing getaway.

A pet-friendly 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers).

Guests can access the tiny home and surrounding areas. They can wander around the property as there is a communal fire pit at the back and a big beautiful dam that has turtles and looks like a lake.
- Family-friendly - Wifi is not available - BBQ Grill is not available - No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed - Smoking is allowed in certain areas on the property - Mobile reception has good signals for all telco companies - Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality - Make sure to turn off the lights, AC, electronics, close windows and doors when leaving - We have (2) playful sausage dogs and our (3) children. We warmly invite you to share this space - We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge - Pets are allowed by 24 hrs prior notice, and must be on leash at all times. The full policy will be sent before arrival. Important note: - Outdoor fire pits are not available during a total fire ban - Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas - For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
Sandy Strait Shack by Tiny Away is in Booral, just 20 minutes from Hervey Bay. It’s a the perfect pet-friendly stay near Fraser Island and the famous Urangan Pier — perfect for beach days, nature walks, and fun on the water. While you’re here, check out Reef World Aquarium in Urangan, a local favourite since 1979. Don’t miss the Urangan Pier, nearly a kilometre long! Lake McKenzie is also a must-see, with its white sand and clear rainwater. You'll also be close to The Boat Club for waterfront dining, drinks, and weekend entertainment, with the River Heads ferry terminal and Hervey Bay Pier just a short drive away. Right from the start Kayla was the hostess with the mostess! The home was clean & bright, more spacious that I expected & we were greeted by rather curious kangaroos, which was brilliant & set a nice country vibe to our stay. I came with 2 fur babies but also needed to babysit a 3rd on a couple of days & Kayla was so understanding. The home is on their property, but you have you own space & are left bask in the tranquil setting. Kayla made the Christmas being away from home stress free & homely. I was surprised there was the space to setup all the gifts I had in the tiny home & the home includes everything you need; you don't need a TV when surrounded by such beautiful nature and wildlife & Kayle has setup chairs & a firepit outside to really take it all in. 100% recommended.
